Hi! My name is Nika Momeni and I am in my third year of Biomedical Engineering student. This year I’m the President of EWB Ryerson and I’m very excited to share all of the projects we have planned for this year. Some of my hobbies include writing, reading and playing sports. I joined EWB in my second year because I was interested in finding ways to apply sustainability in my personal life and my career. I look forward to what this year brings!

Hi everyone, my name is Hussain. I am in my third-ish year of mechanical engineering. I did my first two years in aerospace and then transferred to mech this year. I am currently the VP Finance for EWB Ryerson.  I joined EWB last year because I wanted to learn more about the various causes of poverty and inequality in certain parts of the world. During my time on EWB, I learned about challenges present in Subsaharan Africa, the idea of systemic change, and how entrepreneurship can help overcome these challenges. Some of my hobbies include binging tv series, reading, playing pool, swimming, fishing and napping. I am also working towards becoming more financially literate. In the future, I plan on working for/investing in social enterprises.

My name is Carley and I am in my 3rd year of Mechanical Engineering. I joined EWB Ryerson because I loved their message of sustainability and solving problems at their roots. I know that there are a lot of things that need fixing in this world and I want to be a part of the solution. Here at our chapter I’ve also learned a lot about community and collaboration with some amazing people.

My name is Matthew Scerni and I am in my 3rd year of mechanical engineering, specializing in mechatronics. I enjoy snowboarding in the winter and playing volleyball in the summer. I joined EWB because I wanted to learn more about how I could positively impact the world and how sustainability could be implemented into the engineering field. EWB has introduced me to new ways of thinking and new opportunities that gave me a totally different outlook on what it means to be in engineering.
